NEEDS + CHALLENGES
Having been involved with the design since its inception, the Bison team worked hard to achieve the desired result – a large clear span building that was cost effective, yet architecturally attractive. Bison Constructions was chosen by AJR Construct to fabricate this superstructure, including the supply of all the cladding, flashings and rain water products. Lifting the roof off the ground in one single lift with parapet walls and the box gutter in place was completed with ease.

The St Helen’s stadium project showcases how streamlined collaboration and innovative design deliver outstanding results. Featuring multi-profiled and spaced cladding for a distinct aesthetic, a fully painted 36-meter clear-span structure, and high-level natural lighting using Wonderglas, the project strikes a perfect balance between functionality and appeal. The structure also supports fold-up basketball backboards, adding versatility to its design. From concept to completion, this project highlights the seamless integration of cost-effective solutions with architectural finesse, achieved through diligent teamwork in design, fabrication, and on-site construction.
