Common bay spacings are 6m, 6.5m, 7.5m and 8m. These spacings work well for both 5'x4' round bales and 9'x3'x3' big square bales.
The Sky's the limit
When it comes to options, the Bison team have a working understanding of all rural requirements. When building your next hay shed be sure to make contact with BISON.
Custom designing a hay barn and understanding your requirements is something we get excited about and take a lot of pride in.
- Excellent access with clear spans and large open bays with minimal obstructions
- Hot rolled structural steel columns are nudge resistant and built to withstand accidental bump
- Strong fixing points with minimum 16mm base plates and cast-in foot cages
When discussing your needs, we will ask questions to determine the type of equipment you use to load your barn, the style and size of your hay bales, and what your possible future requirments may be.
Height is no issue for the Bison structure, with common heights being 4mH for 3 round bales high, 5.25mH for 4 bales high and up to 7.5-8mH for big square bales commonly used in large scale operations.
